Cycling in Tanzania provides an adventurous way to explore the country’s diverse landscapes and rich cultural heritage. Cyclists can experience a variety of terrains, including the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, the plains of the Serengeti, and coastal paths along the Indian Ocean. The country's roads and trails offer a mix of rugged mountain paths, gravel roads, and open savannah, making it an appealing destination for cyclists looking for challenging and diverse routes.

Many cycling routes take riders off the typical tourist paths, providing opportunities to explore remote villages and engage with local communities, such as the Maasai. Cyclists passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the Serengeti may also encounter wildlife, including zebras, giraffes, and elephants. This makes the experience more immersive compared to traditional safari tours.

Scenic routes are a significant feature of cycling in Tanzania. Trails in the Usambara Mountains, for example, offer panoramic views of lush forests and valleys, while routes through the Great Rift Valley allow cyclists to explore volcanic landscapes. Coastal regions, such as Lake Victoria and the Indian Ocean, offer flatter but equally scenic rides through fishing villages and along beaches.
